Abstract
The effect of hyperuricemia by the acute injection of alcohol was studied on male rats receiving a low protein-high carbohydrate (7 % casein) and a standard protein-low carbohydrate (20% casein).
The increasing rate of serum, uric acid and allantoin by the injection of alcohol was higher trend in rats fed standard protein diet than those fed a low protein diet. The rats fed a low protein diet by the injection of alcohol, generally showed a decreasing tendency of purines catabolizing enzymes; guanase, xanthine oxidase and adenosine deaminase, compared with those fed a standard protein.
